Fully strong…through life

Fully strong…through life

You’re never too young or too old for more exercise

From around the age of 30, many people begin to gradually lose muscle mass and strength – the technical term for this is sarcopenia. If muscles are not regularly challenged, they break down and everyday life can become a challenge. Many people are unaware of the far-reaching effects.

Fully strong…through life

Background

Supported by the FFW with funds from the Science Communication Programme, Prof. Dr. Robert Csapo and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barbara Wessner have set themselves the goal of communicating their research results from the project ‘Training of intramuscular connective tissue in older age’ beyond the scientific community.

Studio Dankls approach

With the aim of translating their research findings into an exhibition, the exchange with the sports scientists was central. The exhibition was to be accessible at several locations in Vienna, which is why a mobile container was chosen as the location. The design plays with floor markings and playing fields to systematically guide visitors through the three stations. Information and personal involvement of the visitors form the central focus.

„Doing is the essence of training. I liked the fact that the exhibition design took up this credo in a playful way with its references to the world of sport!“

Prof. Dr. Robert Csapo

The exhibition begins with determining the personal status quo and ends with impulses for starting a training programme.

Result

The mobile exhibition Fully strong…through life shows the connections between muscle atrophy and all other bodily functions, measures the fitness starting point and provides concrete training impulses for an active life into old age. In more detail: At the beginning, an interactive screen measures personal hand strength and allows visitors to explore the positive effects of exercise on the brain, bones and cardiovascular system. The chair-rise test in the centre of the exhibition is another way of finding out more about your current fitness level and engaging in conversation with sports science students. The third section of the exhibition provides concrete ideas for an active life into old age. A personalised brochure with tips, suggestions and information can be compiled here.

„The exhibition did a good job of showing that muscle atrophy doesn’t just affect older people, but that it is important to stay strong, ‘through life’ and make training part of everyday life.“

Co-Creation Now

by STUDIO DANKL

Start into the future with a Co-Creation process tailor-made for you.

  • Process design and support
  • Depending on the project, approx. 4 to 18 months

Co-creation is contextual and situational, so no two design processes are exactly alike. From a pool of proven methods and creative processes, we put together a customised and project-dependent process. This is divided into a preparation phase in which the goal, desire or opportunity is identified, an implementation phase that covers idea generation, prototyping and implementation up to evaluation, and a post-project phase in which adaptations are made and projects are further supported.

Focus content:
— Based on a free initial consultation, offer for a tailor-made project divided into preparation phase
— implementation phase
— post-project phase

Target group:
Organisations from the public and private sector

Number of participants:
To be determined jointly for co-creation activities.

Co-Creation Ideas Ping-Pong Over Lunch
